They basically told me to go F myself so I was pretty much done with them at that point and if i can avoid slate products I do now. When the raven died i approached slates team about getting a replacement part (i had done testing and opened my rig up to them for testing during development for some of the raven software releases). However at the same time, using my finger instead of the mouse to edit images was kind of fun and a little faster. The resolution on the raven was stuck at 1080 and for other applications (video/image editing) just didnt cut it. So the macros kinda just go out the window. If youre doing your job properly on a mix, youre not repeating the same moves over and over again. ![]() For someone that is doing the same thing over and over again (think sample library creator) the macro things would be great. The hassle of setting up slates overlay got old quick. Multitouch is pretty cool but automation moves are just as easily done with a mouse click and are more precise. Theres no tension on the screen so you dont get the same tactile feel of pushing faders. In reality, it forces you to look at the screen even more. I wound up getting a much nicer screen with a presonus 16ch faderport. Didnt use it much for its intended purpose as it really didnt fit into my workflow and i wasnt about to change that. I confess that I was not expecting it to be that negative at first glance, but every point in here makes sense. Tech wise, I'm ready to spend enough to get a modern 10+ multitouch point screen.Įdit : Thanks all! I'm very grateful for all that constructive, experience-fed feedback.
